Pulmonary Medicine

Shiomi Medical Clinic provides evaluation and treatment for pulmonary (breathing) disorders such as asthma, COPD (emphysema and chronic bronchitis), fibrosis of the lung including asbestosis and idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, inflammatory lung disease, lung cancer and tumors, sleep apnea syndrome, and of course common colds with coughs: acute bronchitis. We can also maintain and care for HOT (home oxygen therapy) patients.

Gastroenterology

We can treat common gastro-entero disease ; gastritis, reflux esophagitis and other upper and lower digestive system diseases. Please tell us about your trouble or complaint. We can not only diagnose gastro-entero disease by endoscopy but also perform endoscopic polypectomy using electrosurgical unit.

Nephrology

Hematuria and/or proteinuria are common phenomena about nephritic diseases. We advise and treat the patients based on our long term experiences at Kagawa Rosai Hospital ( We’ve performed renal biopsies of over 200 patients, introduced hemodialysis over 300 patients and also introduced continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis ( CAPD ) over 20 patients.). Life Style Related Diseases

We can treat and follow up Hypertension (high blood pressure), abnormal fat metabolism, diabetes mellitus, hyper-uric acidemia ( gout ) etc., which are associated with so called Metabolic syndrome.

These disorders can cause damage to your arteries, which can then increase the risk of developing arteriosclerosis.

Especially for assessment of these arteriosclerotic diseases, we can use ultrasound an examination of the carotid (cervical) artery and also we measure the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) by a vascular screening system.
